During his visit to Germany, AK Parti Vice Chairman and Chairman of Foreign Affairs Zafer Sırakaya, together with Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, met with representatives of the Turkish community at the Turkish Martyrs’ Mosque, one of Europe’s most significant places of worship.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, who travelled to Berlin for the Berlin International Tourism Exchange (ITB) Fair, attended an iftar programme organised by Non-Government Organisations at the Turkish Martyrs’ Mosque. Before the iftar, Minister Ersoy offered prayers at the cemetery located in the mosque’s courtyard.

Following this, Minister Ersoy and Vice Chairman Sırakaya participated in the iftar programme hosted by civil society organisations.

AK Parti Vice Chairman Zafer Sırakaya remarked that Turks living abroad are fully integrated into the countries they reside in, playing an active role in all aspects of life, from economics to politics and sports to science.

In his speech at the Iftar programme Sırakaya stated that oppression and injustice persist and continue in various regions of the world, adding:

“Today, in Gaza, Arakan, and East Turkestan, unfortunately, persecution persists. As representatives of a civilisation built on justice and compassion, we all bear witness to Türkiye’s ongoing efforts, both regionally and globally, to stand against these injustices.”

Sırakaya also highlighted the growing racism and hatred in Europe, expressing concerns over its increasing prevalence.

The iftar programme was attended by Abdullah Eren, President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Social Democratic Party (SPD) Federal MP Hakan Demir, Berlin State Parliament members Derya Çağlar and Ersin Nas, along with numerous distinguished guests.
