I call on CHP and its leadership to condemn the disgraceful slogans chanted in Saraçhane

Following the demonstrations carried out in Saraçhane, Istanbul, AK Parti’s Vice Chairman Zafer Sırakaya condemned the insults directed at President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s late mother and his family.
AK Parti’s Chairman of Foreign Affairs Zafer Sırakaya reminded everyone that His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Türkiye stating:
“I strongly condemn the shameless and militant-toned insults directed at our President, his late mother, and his family during the protests in Saraçhane.”
Zafer Sırakaya stated the following:
“The disgraceful demonstrations held by militant groups, who have embraced vandalism as a method, openly targeting our state and law enforcement, and damaging public property, along with the vile slogans shouted against our government and our democratically elected President, have reached an unacceptable level.
It is the responsibility of CHP to steer these hateful actions and protests back onto a democratic path. I call on CHP’s leadership and the party as whole to respond to this call, to end these demonstrations carried out on the streets, which aim to polarise our nation and pit people against one another, and to condemn the disgraceful slogans chanted in Saraçhane.”
