AK Parti Vice Chairman Zafer Sırakaya in his message marking the occasion of Eid al-Fitr stated in his social media channels, that the arrival of the month of Ramadan brings joy, its departure brings sorrow, its presence is worship, and the prayers made during it are for forgiveness. He went on to express the following:

As we bid farewell to the month of Ramadan, which has allowed us to retreat into our own spiritual “Hira” (the cave in which our Prophet Peace be upon him received the first revelation) we feel the sorrow of this blessed months departure alongside the blessing of reaching #Eid al-Fitr.

This Ramadan has once again passed under the shadow of the ongoing, devastating attacks by the occupying regime in Gaza, targeting children, infants, and innocent civilians.

We have reached Eid al-Fitr carrying the sadness of the orphaned children in Gaza, and the grief of parents, siblings, and families who have all lost their loved ones.

We firmly believe that the path to ending wars, conflicts, and chaos, not only in Gaza but across the world where not only Muslims, but humanity itself is under attack lies in our vision that explicitly states, “A Fairer World Is Possible.”

Our continued efforts to foster an environment of peace and brotherhood, within our homeland and across the wider region with which we share deep historical ties with.

No force can deter our unwavering stance against the plague of terrorism, which for half a century has stood as an obstacle and caused lasting wounds against Türkiye. We remain steadfast in our commitment to building a Terror-Free Türkiye.

We will never forget and abandon the sacrifices of our heroes who fell for our flag and our land.

We cherish our noble nation in all its colours, faiths, and beliefs, and again I underline our unwavering commitment to doing everything in our power to protect their lives and property, just as we have done in the past, we will continue to do so moving forward.

With these thoughts and sentiments, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on Eid al-Fitr, a day that bears with it sorrow, pain, grief, and yet, hope.

I pray to the Almighty that these blessed days bring peace and tranquillity to our nation, our region, all believers, to all of humanity, and to the entire world.
