“It was not just homes that were set ablaze in Mölln and Solingen, but the conscience of humanity and it was not only lives that were lost to bullets in Halle and Hanau, but also our social harmony.”

AK Parti Vice Chairman Zafer Sırakaya stated, “It was not just homes that were set ablaze in Mölln and Solingen, but the conscience of humanity and it was not only lives that were lost to bullets in Halle and Hanau, but also our social harmony.”
Sırakaya shared a message on his social media accounts in honour and in memory of those who lost their lives in the Solingen attack. He also shared a message to the victims who were murdered by the National Socialist Underground (NSU) terrorist organisation.
Zafer Sırakaya remembered and sent condolences to the five Turkish citizens who lost their lives in the city of Solingen on the 29th of May 1993, due to their homes being set on fire by a racist group. In his statement, he also commemorated the victims of the vile attacks carried out by the NSU terrorist organisation between 2000 and 2006, which targeted ten individuals, eight of whom were of Turkish origin.
Sırakaya stated: “We have not forgotten Solingen, and we will not allow NSU to be forgotten.”
In his message shared on his social media accounts Sırakaya went on to state:
“We commemorate with our deepest respect, our martyred citizens who were burned alive in a racist attack in Solingen, Germany, in 1993. We must once again underline that we deeply condemn all forms of racism and Islamophobia, and we still feel the same pain in our hearts today as we did when these heinous attacks took place. The tragic NSU murders that followed the Solingen atrocity revealed the brutal, vile, and cursed institutional face of racism. The lack of determination shown by the German authorities in shedding light on these dark incidents, in which our citizens were targeted, continues to erode the sense of social trust in nations where our citizens reside in.”
