The Antalya Diplomacy Forum serves as a “crossroad for civilisational” in addressing global challenges.

AK Parti Vice Chairman and Chairman of Foreign Affairs Zafer Sırakaya described the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, held under the theme “Embracing Diplomacy in a Fragmented World,” as a “crossroad for civilisation” in addressing global challenges.

During the Forum, Sırakaya met with Tahir Budaqov, Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), and Member of Parliament for the New Azerbaijan Party Ramil Hasan to discuss bilateral relations between the two allied countries, as well as to exchange views on joint roadmaps concerning regional and global issues.

RELATIONS WITH CHINA

AK Parti Vice Chairman and Chairman of Foreign Affairs Zafer Sırakaya met with Henry Huiyao Wang, President of the Centre for China and Globalisation, and Secretary-General of the Centre for China and Globalisation Mabel Miao. During the meeting, they discussed the importance of advancing economic and trade relations and cooperation between the two countries based on mutual benefit on a regional and global level.

THE RISE OF POPULISM IN EUROPE

As part of his meetings in the Forum, Zafer Sırakaya met with Ilhan Kyuchyuk, Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament. During the meeting, Sırakaya expressed his concerns over how populist ideologies are gaining a strong foothold in the European Parliament. He held discussions on how the influence of these views from political groups in the European Union could be minimised during the parliaments new legislative term.

ISSUES REGARDING MINORITY GROUPS

Zafer Sırakaya met with Çiğdem Asafoğlu, Chairwoman of the Friendship, Equality and Peace Party of Greece; Mustafa Trampa, the Elected Mufti of Xanthi and Chair of the Advisory Board; and İbrahim Şerif, the Elected Mufti of Komotini. During the meeting, he emphasised that resolving issues regarding minority groups would further strengthen relations between Türkiye and Greece, stating:

“Transforming all minority communities living in both Türkiye and Greece into sources of richness and prosperity ensuring the strengthening of both nations.”
